New England Orthopedic Specialists includes a team of fellowship-trained, highly-experienced and board-certified physicians. Your New England Orthopedic physician is a specialist, trained in the most recent treatments and technology, to give you the best care. We have providers in every specialty you need from sports medicine to hand surgery and joint replacement surgery, all in one practice.
OUR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS
We take a team approach to orthopedics at New England Orthopedic Specialists. Our staff of over 30 team members includes six Physician Assistants. Our clinical staff is an invaluable part of our team and help by providing the highest level of patient support.
HEATHER PARRY, PA-C

Heather is a certified Physician Assistant. After completing her bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Colorado, Ms. Parry worked as a physical therapy aide until entering the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences where she completed her master of science degree in physician assistant studies in 2001. Ms. Parry is board-certified as a Physician Assistant and is certified with a Special Recognition in Surgery. She joined New England Orthopedic Specialists right after graduation and has become proficient in orthopedics through her involvement in patient care as well as assisting our doctors in all types of orthopedic surgery. Heather is a life-long resident of the North Shore and grew up in Marblehead, Massachusetts.
JAMES E. POULIN, PA-C, ATC

James is a certified Physician Assistant and a certified Athletic Trainer. Mr. Poulin graduated from Yale University School of Medicine, Physician Associate Program, and holds an undergraduate degree in sports medicine from Springfield College. He specializes in orthopedics and provides surgical assistance with orthopedic procedures as well as pre- and post-operative patient care. Mr. Poulin has served as an Athletic Trainer for the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club. He also served as an Athletic Trainer for several New England colleges and was a Clinical Rehabilitation Specialist for a sports medicine facility. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the National Athletic Trainers Association and is state licensed as a Physician Assistant and Athletic Trainer.
DAVID BUFF, PA-C

David is a board-certified Physician Assistant. Mr. Buff obtained his Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at East Carolina University in 2011. He worked as a physical therapy technician after receiving his B.S. in Biology at Elon University. He worked in Beverly, MA as an Orthopedic PA for 4 years prior to coming to NEOS. He brings a wide background in working with patients from initial injury through their recuperation.
Benjamin Thorn, PA-C

Ben obtained his B.S. in Biology from Suffolk University. After college he worked in a research lab that studied pluripotent stem cells. He graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science in Boston in 2012. Ben is a board-certified Physician Assistant. He worked in the Orthopedics Department at Cambridge Health Alliance specializing in Sports Medicine for several years prior to coming to NEOS.
Kelsey Berlin, PA-C

Kelsey is a certified Physician Assistant. She studied Health Sciences as an undergraduate at Gettysburg College where she began to chase her career in medicine. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, she was an EMT, Pediatric Medical Assistant, and volunteered her medical services in both Dominican Republic and Guatemala. She received a Master’s in Physician Assistant studies at LIU Brooklyn, where she found her passion for Orthopedics. She spent two years at Johns Hopkins University as an Orthopedic Trauma Physician Assistant before moving to Boston, MA to continue her career in Orthopedics.
Kate Rudolph, PA-C

Kate is a board-certified physician assistant. She attended Connecticut College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral neuroscience and psychology. After graduation, she worked as a medical assistant at New England Orthopedic Specialists. She then obtained her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of New England and was excited to return to NEOS after graduation.
